When it opens its doors this spring, the new Garvey Institute Center for Neuromodulation will dramatically improve our ability to improve access to treatments such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and other novel therapeutics in one convenient location in the new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning at UWMC-Northwest.
Neuromodulation treatments can improve recovery for a variety of conditions, including major depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), catatonia, schizophrenia and other conditions. The new Center will also create opportunities for our trainees to learn state-of-the art neuromodulation therapies and for our clinician scientists to explore novel therapeutic approaches in interventional psychiatry.
