NTAP is joining ADAI

Earlier this month, the Center for Novel Therapeutics in Addiction Psychiatry (NTAP) joined the Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute (ADAI).

Led by Nathan Sackett, MD, MS, NTAP’s mission is to create powerful new ways of treating people struggling with alcohol, opioid, tobacco and other addictions by combining psychedelic compounds with evidence-based behavioral interventions. Their addition will strengthen ADAI and NTAP will benefit from the institute’s 50 years of experience and expertise with substance use research, education, and dissemination.

“We are thrilled that NTAP is joining us,” says ADAI Director Susan Ferguson, PhD. “As an institute, we believe that harms related to substance use are preventable and treatable and that research is essential for developing real-world solutions. NTAP complements this vision and fits in well with our other ADAI centers and programs which focus on substance use research, policy, and practice.”

Increased collaboration will make both PBSCI organizations stronger.

“NTAP is honored to join this group of highly respected faculty and staff,” says Dr. Sackett. “We look forward to working together to find innovative solutions for some of our community’s most difficult challenges.”
