The Garvey Institute Center for Neuromodulation located in the new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning on the UW Medical Center-Northwest campus offers a full spectrum neuromodulation program. Clinicians are cross trained in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and can help patients find the treatment that’s right for them.
The Center offers the following services
– Consultation with recommendations
– Treatments – acute and maintenance
– Follow-ups while getting treated
– Transitions and maintenance plans
The Center does not provide or assume primary behavioral management
Conditions/disorders treated (for patients aged 13+)
– Catatonia
– Anxious depression
– Late-life depression (LLD)
– Major depressive disorder (MDD)
– Major depressive episode (MDE) associated with unipolar or bipolar disorder
– Treatment resistant depression (TRD)
– Nicotine cessation
– Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
– Pain
– Please contact the Center to discuss off-label indications (e.g., schizophrenia, PTSD, trauma, etc.)
Acute serious, severe, catatonic, psychotic or suicidal depression (acute, not chronic suicidal ideation) may be a preferential referral to ECT
