The Garvey Institute Center for Neuromodulation reached an important milestone in March 2026 when, for the first time, they cared for 100 patients with state-of-the-art neuromodulation treatments such as ECT and TMS in a single week. On one day alone, they treated 15 patients with TMS, also a record.
Managing this number of patients across modalities and phases of care is complex and challenging task. The center’s medical director, Randall Espinoza, MD, MPH, tributes the success to the center’s staff and to the leadership provided by Rich Ehrhart, RN and Heather Williamson, RN, the center’s nurse manager and assistant nurse manager.
In the past year, the Center for Neuromodulation has seen a substantial increase in the number of patients served. As of now, they are seeing more than 300 visits per month, up from 130 visits per month in June 2025. After 2,373 visits in the previous fiscal year, the center expects to surpass that by at least 300 visits in 2026, and we anticipate at least 3,300 visits by 2027.
